Put a Little Spring in Your Wardrobe

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Montana chapter.

With March arriving this week everyone is ready for the Spring Break season to start. All those bulky sweaters are going on clearance at your favorite store and the inventory is getting more colorful. Looking for some affordable ways to get that great new look for spring break without spending more than you want? The simplest way to find things is thrift store hopping. Not only are the clothes priced well but it can also be a fun way to spend a Saturday with the girls (personal note: make sure to re-wash all the clothes just to be safe). Missoula’s local Goodwill even offers a 10% discount for Grizcard holders!

If you’re a little unsure about pre-owned clothes that’s fine! Ross, “Dress for Less”, is an affordable option. Ross is a great place to get some brand clothes (Roxy, American Eagle, etc.) for a very low price. They have everything needed for an exciting spring wardrobe including fun summer dresses that can double as a cute swimsuit cover. Ross also has some room essentials to brighten up your day-to-day life.

With Spring Break just around the corner our minds are fluttering away to warmer weather. Next stop: Southgate Mall to check out the new styles and hope for some sales. At Dillards a $50 mani/pedi would be a lovely start to a shopping weekend! The layering style is still very popular and plain tee shirts are very good for just that. For twelve dollars you can have colored or neutral crew neck tees available at Dillards. Wet Seal has a 5 for $20 deal: mix tanks, tees, and camis! Vanity is currently having a “BOGO” sale, buy a pair of jeans and get a shirt half off, buy two shirts get one half off (etc.)! Payless Shoe Source has cork wedges, cute with just about everything, at $19.99 all colors and patterns!

Now, for those of us who might be stuck in rainy Montana this spring break there are ways to have cute spring outfits without the needed warmer weather. Rain boots! Not only are they cute but functional! Rain boots are becoming very popular so it’s very easy to find some that fit your style and personality. Rain boots are the perfect shoe for any girl on the go! Just one of the many places to find fashion-forward rain boots is Maurices, a store just outside Dillards. Another trick to be more “springy” in a cooler climate is accessory scarves. Colorful scarves can make an outfit look new and spring-like at very little cost. Hey- maybe even pair a bright green scarf with some flower patterned rain boots!

So, whether you’re headed somewhere with beaches and warmth or staying home in the rainy Montana weather there is something for you!
