Lush Product Review: Mask of Magnaminty

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UIC chapter.

Welcome back, collegiates. To most UIC students, the beginning of the school year reminds us that there’s only a couple of months left of the hot, humid Chicago weather until the dreadful winter. But it’s also a reminder that those pesky blackheads we’re annoyed of are back in full action.

Summer can get quite unpredictably hot and humid here in the city. Collegiates are often running around from class to class sweating from the warm weather. Because of this, a lot of people notice their make-up sliding off of their face, leaving no choice but to touch our face of ours with our dirt-infested hands. Unfortunately, these are all the ingredients to what causes those awful blackheads that makes us run to the bathroom with our pore strips in our hands.

Fortunately, the story doesn’t have to just end there. There’s a store called Lush, an all natural, fresh handmade store designated to bring an end to what thousands of people suffer from: acne. One of their masks is called Mask of Magnaminty. It is a deep cleansing mask made from peppermint, bean, and honey. It comes in an 11.1 oz black tub for $24.95. The mask gives off a tingly, fresh feel during the first few seconds. Not only does it give off a nice, refreshing feeling, but it also does an amazing job sucking out all the impurities and dirt that the face absorbs throughout the day.

I personally suffered from blackheads for the longest time, but after using the Mask of Magnaminty for a couple of months now, I’m starting to see a huge dramatic shift. I recommend using the mask during the evening after taking a shower that way the mask will work better when your pores are open and clean.

There are countless of skincare products that Lush offers and I, for one, have to say that they are THE best when it comes to controlling any sort of acne. Plus, it’s one of the few companies that use pure natural ingredients for their products unlike the toxic chemicals that most brand name companies use. Even though they might be a bit pricey for some collegiates, I promise you that it’s WORTH it.

For any more information regarding Lush or the Mask of Magnaminity, be sure to visit their website! You can catch this store inside of Macy’s just right off of North Michigan Avenue or you can always go online and search for the nearest store by you!
