Savvy Updates: Refresh Your Desk

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UFL chapter.

So you can see the light at the end of the spring semester tunnel, right?

Well, almost. You still have final papers and projects blockading sights of sun, palm trees, and beaches from your Ray Bans.

A great way to stay productive during these last few weeks is to keep your work area clean and focused on the tasks that lie ahead. Keeping a clean desk allows you to organize your tasks and be productive with only one project at a time.

A good way of organizing your tasks is to create lists of tasks. Kate Spade New York designed a great set of stationery that is numbered: “The Short List” and “The Long List.” Both of these sets are perfect for the busy collegiette constantly planning and on the go. They’re big enough to contain all of those crazy assignments, yet small enough for you to keep in your backpack to carry around when more list-writing activities follow suit.

Now, you’ll be able to strategize which is more important, writing your essay for Tuesday’s due date and or painting your nails with O.P.I.’s latest Summer hues. Having an objective for the week allows you to not only be smart about your time, but also savvy about which tasks to complete first. When you see it on paper, you are more likely to be productive for what’s forthcoming.

If you keep your workspace organized, you will be less likely to becoming distracted by the tasks that aren’t urgent. Keep your space clean with only your laptop, books, and the list of what’s pertinent and crucial on your desk—not that new copy of Vogue.

By keeping your space organized, you will be sure to have a smart and savvy end to your spring semester, filled with more time to spend with friends and family!
