With the weather being as fickle as ever, putting together an outfit has been a bit of a balancing act. This is why I was so beyond happy to run into Caroline Sessions wearing this adorable olive green dress with a cool printed scarf. Where is your outfit from? “The dress is from Reborn J, the shoes are DSW, the scarf is from Target, and my bag is a Longchamp.”
How would you describe your style? “ I would describe my style as eclectic. If you took a peek into my closet you would see Lilly Pulitzer dresses hanging next to a boho lace top I found at a craft fair. I have always loved playing dress up, and I guess that hasn’t changed as I’ve gotten older. I think style is about expressing your personality without saying a word, and I certainly take full advantage of that opportunity. I love getting to try something new; today’s outfit was something new and I’m very happy with the outcome.”
Who is your style icon? “I obsess over Olivia Palermo. She’s able to flawlessly combine classic styles with unique patterns, textures and designs. She constantly looks effortlessly pulled together, and I truly admire her ability to switch in and out of styles daily. She never looks like she’s trying too hard and yet she always seems to look polished.”
What’s important to you when it comes to fashion? “I appreciate simplicity and uniqueness. I am attracted to pieces that are versatile, modest and allow me to get creative in my styling. By staying away from limiting patterns and statement designs, I’m able to layer my clothing so that there’s more to the outfit than one item that loses its appeal after a couple of wears.”
Where do you like to shop? “I traditionally shop at stores like J.Crew and Banana Republic but you can always find me in Target or T.J. Maxx. It’s less important where you shop but how you shop. You can find hidden gems anywhere; it’s just important to always be on the look out.”
What are you currently obsessing about in your closet? “I’m all about the accessories and I am definitely a bag girl. I have a tan Tory Burch dome satchel that I have obsessed over for years. It’s my dream bag and now that it’s in my closet, it has officially taken its place at the top of my personal fashion favorites.”
