5 Things for Singles to do this Valentine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCSB chapter.

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and those that have a SO are preparing for one of the most romantic nights of the year. And the rest of us….well Valentine’s Day just becomes another normal day. For those who are living the single life, here are a few ideas of ways to make your Valentine’s Day a little more exciting.

1. Movie Night

Stay in (either by yourself or with friends) and watch your favorite rom-coms or chick flicks. If you don’t have your relationship at least you can enjoy watching your favorite movie ship.

2. “Secret Valentine” Gift Exchange

To do this, simply just have a few friends write down several of their favorite things. The rest works similar to a white elephant/secret Santa gift exchange. People can either buy or make the gifts based on the list of likes/dislikes. This way everyone gets a gift on Valentine’s day!

3. Sleepover

Grab a few of your favorite girls and have a good old fashion sleepover! You can watch movies, order from your favorite place to eat, and maybe even have a mini spa day. So many options here.

4. Girls Night Out

Grab your squad and go let loose! What better way to forget all your worries than to be out with your girls dancing the night away?

5. Relax!

Sometimes all we really need is some time alone to unwind. After the stress of classes who wants to stress over Valentine’s day? Be your own Valentine and treat yourself with a few of your favorite things and just de-stress.
