3 Min or Less Effortless Chic Outfits for School

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCSB chapter.

It seems like laziness is an inevitable part of winter quarter (or maybe it’s just me). But, these outfits will guarantee you to look chic while putting zero effort. I promise these outfits are as easy as going to school in sweats and a t-shirt. No one will even guess that you rolled out of beds just a few minutes before class started.

1. Maxi Dresses

We are lucky to be blessed with nice weather in Santa Barbara year round. A maxi dress is not only comfortable, but also gives the illusion of being super put-together. Throwing a jean jacket over a maxi (that is, not to mention, easy to slip on) is the perfect outfit that takes as little time as possible!

2. Button Ups

Any type of button ups equates to a seemingly thought out outfit, even if you pair it with simple yoga pants! Stock up on those chiffon, chambray, or cotton button ups next time there’s sales because they’re perfect for a lazy day (and comfortable, as comfort is definitely key!)

3. Accessories

These are the little details that make or break your outfit. You can wear the oversized sweater you slept in last night and still look cute as long as you add a statement necklace, or pair it with some cute boots. Scarves, beanies, even a simple knee high socks will make a big difference to your look. You’ll be rocking that sporty chic look in no time.

4. Structured Jackets

Jean jackets, anoraks, camo jackets, lettermans, and leather paneled moto jackets all fall in the category of structured jackets. My theory is: if you throw on a structured jacket, you will look good no matter what’s underneath (even a graphic tee)!

5. High Waisted Anything

I’ve learned that high-waisted anything, no matter how easy it was to throw on, transforms any outfit! A plain tshirt tucked in high waisted circle skirts, a plain cropped sweater paired with high waisted shorts, or an oversized tank top paired with high waisted jeans or slacks is so effortless yet so chic.

Looking cute takes little time, as long as you own the key pieces. Winter quarter may mean being lazy but these outfits prove that you can be lazy but still look fashionable!
