WWACLD: What Would Amal Clooney Do

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCLA chapter.

Amal Clooney is a prominent Lebanese-British human rights lawyer based in London. Long before she married her famous actor husband, Clooney had plenty of fame of her own in the legal arena. In 2002, when she gradated from NYU School of Law, she worked at Sullivan & Cromwell, one of the top-ranked law firms in the world. Here she received her first clients – Enron and Arthur Anderson.

Currently, Clooney’s most famous human rights case involves the Armenian Genocide. Clooney is representing the interests of Armenia and wanting countries, like Turkey, to recognize the genocide. This could have important ramifications for other European countries that are trying to outlaw genocide denial.

While more mainstream media outlets may recognize Clooney as George Clooney’s wife, her high profile clients and outstanding law trajectory has made her a celebrity on her own – not to mention her killer street style. Clooney looks just as beautiful in Dolce & Gabbana as she does in her judge’s robe while fighting for justice.
