Since Thanksgiving is over it is officially time to pull out those Christmas lights, make a playlist of all of your favorite holiday songs, and have a festive and fun holiday party. Okay, maybe not the last one for all of your holiday enthusiasts but for those who are planning a holiday soirée here are some drink recipes to get the party started.
Chocolate Pudding Shots (makes 15)
Ingredients:
1 cup milk
1/2 cup Irish cream liqueur (eg. Bailey’s®)
1/2 cup vodka (eg. Smirnoff®)
1 (4 serving size) package instant chocolate pudding mix
Directions:
1. Whisk together the milk, Irish cream liqueur, vodka, and instant pudding mix in a bowl until combined. Continue whisking for 2 minutes.
2. Spoon the pudding mixture into shot glasses or disposable ‘party shot’ cups. Chill until set, about 30 minutes. The shots will have the consistency of mousse.
3. Top with whipped cream and enjoy!

Candy Cane Punch
Ingredients:
2 jars (10 ounces each) strawberry jelly
2 liters lemon-lime soda, divided
2 quarts peppermint stick ice cream
Miniature candy canes, optional
Directions:
In a large saucepan, melt jelly with 2 cups soda. Chill the jelly mixture and remaining soda. Just before serving, place 6 cups ice cream in a punch bowl. Gently stir in jelly mixture. Add remaining soda. Add remaining ice cream by scoopfuls. Garnish with candy canes if desired.

Hot Hard Apple Cider
Ingredients:
1 apple
2 teaspoons whole cloves
1 orange, thinly sliced
2 quarts apple cider
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 teaspoon allspice
Pinch grated nutmeg
1 cup dark rum
Cinnamon sticks, garnish
Directions:
Stud the apple with the cloves. In a medium pot, combine the studded apple and remaining ingredients except the rum. Slowly bring to a simmer over low heat. Simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and add the rum. Discard the apple. Ladle into mugs and garnish each with a cinnamon stick. Serve immediately.
