Campus Celebrity: Tiffany Ma

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCLA chapter.

Meet Tiffany Ma, this week’s UCLA Campus Celebrity! She is a 4th year Economics major from Sacramento, CA with a passion for fashion and a major online following. Her YouTube channel, MissTiffanyMa, has about 140,000 subscribers and she has 11,000 followers on Instagram, making her a celebrity on and off the UCLA campus. Aside from being beautiful, charismatic, and hard working, Tiffany Ma is a blast to be around and her videos are incredibly fun to watch.

What inspired you to make YouTube videos?

To be honest, I was inspired to make videos after being hooked on the beauty scene on YouTube! I remember being sick from school one day and somehow convinced myself that it would be a good idea to film my first video that day. It was a terrible first video. My nose was spilling boogers everywhere and I sounded like I was dying, but amazingly, no one cared and that video got 1,000 views in its first week! Now I no longer make beauty videos, but that’s how I got started.

What is your favorite part about being an internet personality?

My favorite thing that comes with doing what I do is hands down meeting my viewers! I’m not entirely sure how to describe that experience, but it’s like meeting a long lost sister! Being considered a “internet personality” is still very foreign and surreal to me. So meeting my viewers makes it all real and I’m incredibly grateful for all of my supportive viewers.

What other activities are you involved with on campus and off campus?

I’m extremely involved in my sorority, Kappa Delta! I was the Vice President of Finance last year and I love staying involved as a Senior. I’ve recently unloaded my plate to focus more on my career and YouTube. But, I have interned with Zooey Magazine, the USAC Presidential Office, AXA Financial, RBZ, LLP and worked at the John Wooden Center!

Where is your favorite place to study on campus?

My favorite place to study is in YRL! It has such a cool, modern vibe to it that I don’t mind staying there 10 hours a day during Finals Week.

What is your go-to outfit?

I. LOVE. ROMPERS. Minus the fact that trying to go to the bathroom is the worst, rompers are definitely a staple in my wardrobe. I’m a lazy dresser. I normally don’t figure out what I’m going to wear until 2 minutes after I needed to leave. So for me, rompers are a luxury because I look put together when really I didn’t put a thought into my outfit.

What are your favorite fashion trends for fall?

I’m so happy I can finally wear a deep burgundy lip in Fall! I guess that’s not considered a fashion trend, but I think adding a color on the lips is a fashion statement in itself.

What has been your greatest experience at UCLA so far?

My greatest experience at UCLA is hands down the UCLA vs. USC football game my sophomore year! I’ve never felt more intensely invested in a sports game than that specific game. The game was so close and extremely nerve wracking, but I felt like it was a scene from a movie when we finally won and the rain started to pour!

If you could go back in time and meet anyone from the past, who would it be and why?

This is easy, I would choose meeting my grandma before she… well, became my grandma! My grandma seemed like such a cool person when she was younger and I still can’t believe some of the stories she’s told me. I guess the normal answer would’ve been choosing a celebrity, but I would never pass up meeting my French speaking, sassy talking grandma.
