3 Possible Bruin Bash Headliners

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCLA chapter.

CEC & CAC just posted the first clue as to who will be headlining Bruin Bash. This annual Welcome Week concert will be taking place on Monday, September 25th. We did some research on the hint and have compiled this list of possible headliners.

1. An Independent Artist

All four artists in the hint (Mac Miller, Chance the Rapper, Macklemore & Future) released their first albums independently.

Some new trending independent artists and possible Bruin Bash headliners include Migos, Jack & Jack, Ray Blk…

2. An XXL Freshman

Each year since 2008, XXL Magazine creates a list of up and coming rappers. All four artists (Mac Miller- 2011 Chance the Rapper- 2014, Macklemore- 2012 & Future- 2012) have been featured in this list, so there’s a good chance our Bruin Bash headliner is on this list.

2017 XXL Freshman Class includes: A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, PnB Rock, Playboi Carti, Ugly God, Kyle, Madeintyo, Kamaiyah, Kap G, Aminé, XXXTentacion.

2016 Freshman Class includes: Anderson .Paak, Kodak Black, Lil Dicky, Desiigner, & more.

We also have our eyes on Kevin Gates who was in the 2014 Freshman class and has an album coming out in a few weeks.

3. Someone who went on tour with one of these artists or collaborated with them.

Chance the Rapper opened for Mac Miller and Macklemore on tour, so maybe there is some sort of connection there?

Mac Miller and Future collaborated on “Earth,” Future and Chance the Rapper collaborated on “My Peak,”  and Chance the Rapper and Macklemore collaborated on “Need to Know.”

Who do you think is performing at Bruin Bash this year? We’ll be sure to keep an eye out on the Bruin Bash Facebook page for the announcement as we get closer to the concert!
