Sorry I’m Not Sorry: Guilty Pleasures

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCF chapter.

We all have those things that we shouldn’t like or shouldn’t do, yet we do them anyways. Some people like to watch The Notebook while eating a half a pint of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, while others like to jam out to One Direction alone in their car. No matter what it may be, we all have a guilty pleasure. In fact, while writing this article I was inspired to take a quiz to see what my guilty pleasure is. Not surprisingly, I got “Watching strangers at Starbucks.” I mean seriously, why study when there is some serious people watching to do. Here’s a few more things that I know I shouldn’t do or like, but do any ways.

1. Acting as a DJ and playing Lean Like a Cholo at just about every party I go to

2. Putting soy sauce on literally every thing I eat

3. Watching The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon reruns on Youtube all day

4. Looking up pictures of Harry Styles with a man bun on Google when I should be studying

5. Hot dogs. Just hot dogs.

6. Going on Tinder and just looking at the options, but never messaging anyone

7. Wearing sunglasses and a hat through the airport in attempts to convince people I’m a celeb (I don’t think it has ever worked)

8. Falling asleep to artificial sounds of thunderstorms from videos online. It’s surprisingly relaxing

9. Seeing how far I can drive without getting gas just to get a little rush

10. Sharing a drunken cigarette with random hipsters at the bar

11. Prank calling. Yes I am in my 20’s, and yes I still do it.

12. Making up an alias at bars. My drunk name is always Maria.. Still not too sure why

13. Imagining Johnny Depp is my father… But also my much-older-than-me husband. Is that weird?

14. Reading horoscopes to other peoples’ signs and pretending they apply to me

15. McDonald’s Filet O Fish. I have no shame.

While I may act as though I am embarrased by these things, the truth is, every thing in this list makes me happy, and that’s all that matters.
