This week I had a chance to sit down and interview two girls who love fashion. Rebecca and Gali love it so much that they decided to make their own contribution to the fashion community. Their small, start-up clothing company, Flirting With Disaster, specializes in making jean shorts. This is a trend seen at campuses all across the United States and sometimes the shorts in stores can be a little pricey. Rebecca and Gali’s shorts are competitively priced and can be completely customized for each girl who orders them.
When did you decide to start this short making company?
Last fall we were experimenting with interesting ideas for shorts; we’d think of designs and embellishments that we’d want to see on shorts sold in stores. Unfortunately, most of our ideas were not a reality. That’s when it occurred to us we could just customize our own at cheaper prices.

How many different sizes of shorts do you have? Can you do custom orders?
Our sizes range from size 0 to 16, but every pair differs in style, so if you see a pair you like but it’s not your size we can customize a pair just for you.
I know you’re starting small, but do you have any plans to expand the company? For example, are you looking for more employees or to make things besides shorts?
As of right now, our main focus to sell our products locally and on campus; however, we do hope to expand to other areas through the Internet. Due to the fact that we are a small business without steady sales we do not plan on hiring more employees at the moment. Expanding our product line has been discussed, but not put in motion.
Have you always loved making clothes? How did your passion begin?
Fashion trends have always been extremely interesting for the both of us. We both began sewing and making shorts in high school and decided to continue to do so in college.
Most people that work with clothing have a great love for fashion; is that true for both of you?
Fashion is a huge part of our lives. It is how we choose to define ourselves, so being able to work with it on a daily basis only allows our passion to grow stronger.
