Bieber’s Back at it With Music Mondays

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCF chapter.

It’s been a while since we have had our Justin Bieber fix but be warned, there is a new strain of Bieber fever and it is in full force. The 19-year-old pop singer has announced “Music Mondays,” a new campaign for his up-coming album. He will be releasing a new song each Monday for the next 10 weeks, ending with a “Special movie on Christmas,” according to Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun. In addition, Bieber will also be releasing new videos on “Film Fridays” whenever a new single reaches No. 1 on the charts.

The first release for “Film Fridays” is a short video clip called “#Stache” from the new film #BelieveMovie that will be released later this year. It shows the first sign of facial hair we have seen from the baby-faced pop star. Bieber claims that it is part of him becoming a “grown man,” which explains the more adult feeling in his R&B tracks about love. Still, it is kind of hard to take him seriously with that peach fuzz “stache.” I just hope that this doesn’t turn into some kind of creeper stache thing.

Bieber is known for being innovative when promoting his work through social media. Take for example when Bieber pranked- well, pretty much everyone via twitter to release his new music video, “Beauty and a Beat.” Beliebers everywhere have been wondering how the pop star would one-up himself. Well, this may be the answer. In this new age of hashtags and re-tweets, social media is the way to go to make a presence.

The first Music Monday featured the single “Heartbreaker,” a heart-felt Ballad that Bieber says is “a song for people going through a heartbreak- like I was when I wrote it.” Sunday at midnight “All That Matters,” yet another love song was released. It conveys the feeling of being in love and the void you feel when that love goes away, according to the singer. A jet-lagged Bieber took to Twitter early Monday morning to announce that “#AllThatMatters (is) #1 in so many countries and top 5 in so many more! Thank u and Happy Canadian thanksgiving!!.” I guess that means the Biebs owes us another #FilmFridays clip.

Music Mondays will ultimately end in the release of the #BelieveMovie, the follow up to “Never Say Never,” which will be released on Christmas Day- the ultimate Christmas gift for any Belieber. Love him or hate him, Bieber is shaking up the industry one love song at a time.
