I will officially be done with my first year here at UC Davis in less than two weeks. Honestly, when I first came here, I couldn’t wait for this year to be over. And now that it’s finally coming to an end, I still cannot wait for it to be over. But not for the same reasons as before.
At the beginning of the year, I really missed my family, I felt alone, and I didn’t really like the school. However, now I’m glad the year is over because I’m excited for the next year. Next year, I’ll be starting my job as a Resident Advisor, so I’m excited to help guide the new Aggies and let them know about all the events, activities, and resources UC Davis has to offer (and I get my own room, so that is definitely a perk!).
I’m also excited to continue volunteering as a commissioner at the Ethnic and Cultural Affairs commission. Not only am I letting the students of UC Davis know more about the different social issues that are affecting the students on campus and helping to fix them, but I also met wonderful, hardworking people through this commission. I’m excited to see what next year brings for us.
I’m excited to continue to write for Her Campus; all the girls in this club are amazing and talented. I’m excited for future bondings and for the on-campus meetings! I’m excited to go to my weight training class, to go into my design class, and to keep meeting new people.
I think, when I first came to UC Davis, I was a lot more shy and scared, but now I’m really proud of how involved I became during my first year. I feel that my first year here has been a success, both academically and socially. I’m so grateful for the friends I’ve made – especially two who I now consider best friends. I’m honestly happy with what I’ve done and what I have coming for me in the future. So I’m excited for future clubs, future friendships, and for finals to be over too. I’m excited for the break so that I can continue to have fun and relax a little before another successful year here at Davis. Goodbye to my first year. Go Aggies!
