What the Law of Attraction is All About

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UC Berkeley chapter.

If you’ve heard anything about the law of attraction, you may be quick to dismiss it. However, take a look at the famous people who have used it in their daily lives and how they have used it.

  1. Jim Carrey

Before he got famous, Jim wrote a check to himself for 10 million dollars dated for 1987. Right before the date, he landed the role of Dumb and Dumber and was able to actually gain that $10 million.

His advice is that we are the creators of our entire reality. Everything we think about, everything we desire, is based on our own creations whether it be unintentional or intentional. So with every moment seeing your dreams and truly believing is the most important thing to accomplishing them.

2. Floyd Mayweather

The well-famed boxer is also a firm believer in the law of attraction. He is unbeatable in his records and what he constantly asks himself is how bad he wants anything. Once he recognizes that it’s something he desires, he also recognizes that whatever it is, is attainable.

3. Kayne West

Be clear on what you want. That is Kanye’s biggest advice regarding how he manifested the life he wanted. It’s about being able to be real with yourself and fix whatever you don’t like in your life.

If you want more on the law of attraction, because, yes, it’s a hard concept to buy initially, go watch youtube podcasts. It may very well convince you that this theory is bigger than you can imagine.

Melody A. Chang

UC Berkeley '19

As a senior undergraduate, I seek out all opportunities that expand my horizons, with the aim of developing professionally and deepening my vision of how I can positively impact the world around me. While most of my career aims revolve around healthcare and medicine, I enjoy producing content that is informative, engaging, and motivating.  In the past few years, I have immersed myself in the health field through working at a private surgical clinic, refining my skills as a research assistant in both wet-lab and clinical settings, shadowing surgeons in a hospital abroad, serving different communities with health-oriented nonprofits, and currently, exploring the pharmaceutical industry through an internship in clinical operations.  Career goals aside, I place my whole mind and soul in everything that I pursue whether that be interacting with patients in hospice, consistently improving in fitness PR’s, tutoring children in piano, or engaging my creativity through the arts. Given all the individuals that I have yet to learn from and all the opportunities that I have yet to encounter in this journey, I recognize that I have much room and capacity for growth. Her Campus is a platform that challenges me to consistently engage with my community and to simultaneously cultivate self-expression.
