Rachel’s Rose-y Ending

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UC Berkeley chapter.

In the past few days, there has been one major debate among all the most popular media. The Bachelorette.

Who has won Rachel’s heart?

The two most primary contenders currently are Bryan and Peter.

Bryan:

A 37 year old who has demonstrated a suave nature with his sexy Spanish.

He’s a chiropractor and is extremely charming with somewhat of a bad-boy vibe. In the Bachelorette, he stole Rachel’s first kiss.

Peter:

A 31 year old who owns a fitness business.

He’s basically perfection in appearance and caught Rachel’s attention with the little gap between his front teeth.

Rachel has a matching gap.

If we’re being realistic here, both of these men have personalities that vibe extremely well with Rachel’s. Which one is she going to choose?

A lot of predictions are assuming the winner will be the handsome man, Bryan, but here are a couple reasons that does not seem to be right.

  1. Most of the time, people who leave the greatest first impression are not the winners.

The truth is, this show is meant to be for entertainment and viewers immediately have their eyes on the first person who seems to be in lead. That being said, how boring and predictable would the show be if the first person who caught Rachel’s heart won?

That seems way too perfect to be true.

2. Bryan’s mom is not represented well enough on the show.

His mom hates girls if they are trying to “steal her treasure”, Bryan. As family seems really important to both Rachel and Bryan, she would most likely be more cautious of marrying into a family where the mom felt competitive with me.

On the flip side, Peter’s family was represented in such a good light. Not only that, Peter felt the desire for his friends to meet Rachel and garnered positive feedback in the process.

3. Rachel’s family loved Peter.

They were a lot more hesitant with Bryan as opposed to their openness with Peter, regardless of the fact that Peter did not ask for her hand in marriage. Her mother found Peter very respectable while Rachel’s sister thought negatively of Bryan.

P.S.

If we’re being real here, Peter is stunning. How could this smile not win everybody’s heart?

So, what’s your take? Comment below and get pumped for 8/7 when the Final Rose comes out!

As a senior undergraduate, I seek out all opportunities that expand my horizons, with the aim of developing professionally and deepening my vision of how I can positively impact the world around me. While most of my career aims revolve around healthcare and medicine, I enjoy producing content that is informative, engaging, and motivating.  In the past few years, I have immersed myself in the health field through working at a private surgical clinic, refining my skills as a research assistant in both wet-lab and clinical settings, shadowing surgeons in a hospital abroad, serving different communities with health-oriented nonprofits, and currently, exploring the pharmaceutical industry through an internship in clinical operations.  Career goals aside, I place my whole mind and soul in everything that I pursue whether that be interacting with patients in hospice, consistently improving in fitness PR’s, tutoring children in piano, or engaging my creativity through the arts. Given all the individuals that I have yet to learn from and all the opportunities that I have yet to encounter in this journey, I recognize that I have much room and capacity for growth. Her Campus is a platform that challenges me to consistently engage with my community and to simultaneously cultivate self-expression.
