The immediate reaction to President-elect Donald Trump’s victory ranged from surprise to shock to denial to grief and for some, to outrage. Many celebrities supported Hillary Clinton, and therefore weren’t afraid to share their disappointment in Trump’s win. There were some celebrities who were supportive of the Donald winning the election, as well, but there was an outpouring of disillusionment from celebrities who were not happy with the results.

Considering the fact that President-elect Trump is currently living the American Dream, as a celebrity who is now slated to be the 45th President of the United States of America, many celebrities were quite vocal on their thoughts on this election. Alongside those celebrities, many American citizens, as well as millions around the world are refusing to remain silent, and continue to make their voices heard on how they feel about the election results.

Many of these celebrities immediately took to social media to share their thoughts on the Trump winning the election. From singers to actors and actresses, authors to comedians, many celebrities weren’t afraid to be vocal about how they felt about the results.

Some celebrities shared that they were upset about the results of the election. Ariana Grande posted a series of tweets while watching the elections. Signing off her tweets on the election with a message of hope and love.

Lady Gaga was a huge supporter of Hillary Clinton during the election and was persistent in expressing her thoughts during the course of the election as well as after the results were shared. Lady Gaga staged a protest outside the Trump Tower holding up a sign that says, “Love Trumps Hate” showing she wants to have her voice heard and she is not giving up on spreading love. Earlier she had tweeted, “In a room full of hope, we will be heard. Stand up for kindness, equality, and love. Nothing will stop us. Say a prayer America.”

Katy Perry was another major supporter of Hillary Clinton during the election. She performed at Clinton’s #ImWithHer concert which featured other celebrities like Elton John, & Andra Day earlier this year. Katy Perry has continued to be vocal about her thoughts on the election after the results when she tweeted, “THE REVOLUTION IS COMING,” indicating that she is not giving up.

Many Clinton supporters, or simply those who were opposed to Donald Trump, followed suit by staging protests after Donald Trump’s win. Many of these protests were peaceful, however some turned a bit violent, transforming into riots in which arrests were involved. It’s important to note, though, that people are no longer afraid to let their voice be heard. Continue to share your voice, spread love, not hate, and don’t lose hope.
