The Struggles of Trying to Look Cute Through a Snowy Winter

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Ottawa chapter.

Winter is upon us, but that’s no reason to slack on the effort. Looking cute is a lifestyle and you know you’ve got it 24/7. However, even being the cutest cutie that you are, the snowy winter weather still packs a punch and tests your limits. Here are a few winter struggles because sometimes snow just isn’t cool, it’s downright cold.

Your hair is under winter’s command now.
Just let it go.

You may do your eyebrows, but the snow will do them over.
Platinum blonde isn’t a recommendation at this salon. It’s mandatory.

You go for a makeup, hair and outfit look to match the scenery.
What? It’s so in right now.

You think a fresh new layer of snow will make it safe to walk in heels…
…but the ice is always waiting.

Some fashion choices are harder than others.
A hat would just be so extra, but so would frostbite.

You might actually have to seriously consider freezing.
Your outfit is too cute to wear the equivalent of a sleeping bag on top.

The other option is to boil.
In -20°C weather, 300 layers of nice clothing is both cute and functional, right?

When you finally choose to go with functional for a night out with friends, but everyone else chose fashionable.
I’m not bitter. I’m just cold.

You learn from your mistake and now carry a bag exclusively for outfit changes.
Mary Poppins is my great-aunt, okay?

Even with an outfit change, speeding cars and slush are the greatest danger to your look of all.
Your dodging reflexes are at their greatest.

But you know you still look cute covered in snow anyway, so you just roll with it.
