Stages of a Girl on Her Birthday

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Ottawa chapter.

It’s that time of the year when you can do or say anything to anybody because you’re allowed to. You’re allowed to be a complete pain to everyone around you, and the most fun part is that no one can judge your diva attitude…because it’s your birthday! Like when you were a little girl, you become the princess of the day where you get dolled up more than usual and you can make demands to your loved ones. Here are all the thoughts that a birthday girl may have during her big day:

When she wakes up:

1)    She feels really excited about the day ahead of her…

Because she can’t wait to have an awesome birthday.

2)    She immediately looks at her phone…

Because she wants to check if people started to send her birthday wishes.

When she starts getting ready:

3)    She can’t decide what to wear…

Because she doesn’t want to look awful today, especially this day.

4)    When she finally finds her outfit, she’s thrilled…

Because she knows that she looks fierce.

When she meets people (family, friends, and strangers):

5)    She can’t help but remind them it’s her birthday…

Because she wants everyone to be extra nice to her…and generous.

6)    She can’t stop smiling…

Because everyone has to know how wonderful she’s feeling.

When she’s waiting to eat:

7)    She wants her cake first…

Because it’s her choice, her cake and her birthday.

8)    After all this sweet, she needs something salty…

Because she needs to save some cake for the next couples of days.

When she opens her gifts:

9)    She hopes she gets what she’s been asking her loved ones for months…

Because a perfect birthday isn’t complete without awesome gifts.

10) However, she still wants more gifts…

Because it’s the one day she gets to be selfish.

When she arrives at her birthday celebration:

11) She wants all the attention….

Because she’s the Queen for the night.

12)  She doesn’t want to stop partying…

Because she doesn’t want the day to end.

When she goes to bed:

13) She is sad…

Because she just realized that she is getting older.

14) However, she is satisfied…

Because she had the best birthday anyone could have.

Whenever your birthday will be, I hope you have an awesome one collegiettes, all the best wishes!
