Flashback to last summer: I was aimlessly stalking celebrities online and kept seeing advertisements for something called @SummerBreak. Being the dedicated Communications major that I am, plus the fact that I was curious, I decided to check it out considering I couldn’t seem to escape the advertisements. Turns out that Summer Break, being true to its title, is a reality show on YouTube about college-aged teenagers during their summer break. The show is played out through social media sites, such as YouTube, Instagram and Twitter with 2-5 minute episodes posted everyday, except on Sundays when the episodes are 15 minutes. I was immediately addicted. Each episode was posted a few days after it had been filmed so I lived vicariously through their fun and exciting days (in comparison to my exhausting 9-5 days as an intern). I even tweeted some of the characters I liked from the show and got responses, which was a total fan girl moment for me.

Well guess what?! @SummerBreak is back for a second season! If you’re looking for a fun summer “show” to watch I’d suggest this YouTube series. Most of the cast for this season is new, although there are a few returning members (like Whitney and Ray who were ‘shipped’ WhitRay last season) so watching season one of @SummerBreak may be beneficial, if not just entertaining!
