Matt Fidel, Class of 2017

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Mich chapter.

If you ever happen to meet this 6’5” campus cutie, consider yourself lucky. Our newest addition is funny, involved, friendly, and overall one of the most genuine people you’ll meet in Ann Arbor.

Name: Matt Fidel

Year: Class of 2017

Hometown: Pittsburgh, PA

Relationship Status: Engaged… to Kate Upton.

Likes: Basketball, volleyball, NBA 2K, standing in line at Bert’s, Pittsburgh sports, and long walks on the beach.

Her Campus: What are you involved in around campus?

Matt Fidel: I’m in a fraternity, Sammy, which has played a great role in my life on campus.  I was Rush Chair for the past two semesters, which was a great opportunity for me to help shape the future of the fraternity. I was also elected to serve as an LSA representative on Central Student Government.

HC: What made you decide to run for Central Student Government?

MF: I ran for CSG because I wanted to be able to make a difference on campus and represent the interests of my fellow students.

HC: Who is your celebrity crush?

MF: Natalie Portman. She’s hot, she went to Harvard, and uses her fame to make the world a better place. I was pretty devastated when she got married.

HC: What is your dream date?

MF: My dream date would be a steak dinner on the beach with the girl of my dreams.  There would be infinite bottles of champagne and pumpkin pie.

HC: What qualities do you look for in a girl?

MF: Nice smile, a sense of humor, confidence, and easygoing.

HC: What’s your best pickup line?

MF: Not even a question. “Did it hurt? When you fell from heaven.” Every time I’ve used it, it worked. Which was once.

HC: Where do you see yourself 10 years?

MF: Hopefully elected into office. Can I count on you for my first vote?

HC: Of course.

I'm a Freshman at the University of Michigan! I am in LSA and am planning on being a Psychology and Communications major.
