Many of us weren’t fortunate enough to score an invite to Kanye’s Spring 2016 show this year, but we weren’t completely left in the dust. This year, Instagram was an all-access pass to some of the most exciting moments from New York Fashion Week. Here are a few of the highlights in case you missed them.
1. R29Rooms Fall Fashion Week Event
Refinery29 celebrated their 10th birthday with a major bash. Right in the heart of Fashion Week, the American-based style, beauty, and lifestyle website opened an amazing interactive art exhibit in Brooklyn that was literally created for Instagram. Each of the 29 rooms in the exhibit merged style and art to create a unique and delightful backdrop for some of the most fun fashion week ‘grams.
2. Gigi Hadid in the Tommy Hilfiger Finale
The models in Tommy Hilfiger’s show literally made a splash when they frolicked through the on-set lake in the finale. Gigi lead the pack and it was Instagram gold. #finalegooaallllssss
3. Misha Nonoo turns Instagram into a runway
Nonoo was the first ever designer to opt out of a traditional show and reveal her entire collection via an editorial-inspired spread on its own unique Instagram handle. Each tile on the @mishanonoo_show account contributes to the complete panoramic picture. Nonoo chose this approach to fashion week because it is more inclusive and accessible, it gave her more artistic freedom, and she was able to conserve resources. 4. North West Backstage at Kanye’s Show
One of the cutest behind-the-scenes moments at NYFW was baby North playing paparazzi at her dad’s surprise show.
5. Marc Jacob’s Theatrical Showcase
Marc Jacobs’ show featured costume-y designs and popcorn to wrap up a week of amazing Insta moments.
