It’s that awkward time between classes or you wake up feeling slick – and not in the good way. Your hair is not model like and your confidence is down, but don’t fret! Here are some quick and easy ways to make your hair feel and look hot.

If you have one minute or less:

1. Rock those Accessories

A baseball hat with a side braid always looks cute. If hats aren’t your style then try out some cool headbands. A cute headband, that can be bought from places like Urban Outfitters or even CVS, is a life saver for when you’re feeling a little greasy.

If you have about five minutes:

2. Don’t be Afraid to Try Dry Shampoos

One of my favorite brands for dry shampoo is TRESemme‘s FreshStart Dry Shampoo. It runs between $6-$10 and is well worth it. Just spray, work it in and you’re good to go!

If you have about ten minutes:

3. Style It!

If you have medium to long hair, try a curling iron! Curling irons can be bought at places like CVS or Walmart and prices range between $15-$50. It’s actually better to curl your hair when it’s a little greasy so that the curls stay in place! The bounce of your curls will leave you feeling cute and ready for anything.

4. Feeling Sassy?

‘Tis the season for standing out! Try working a high pony-tail or a cute sock bun. You’ll feel more professional PLUS your hair will be out of your face which will prevent breakouts from the grease. Not to mention passing through the W.E.B. DuBois wind tunnel will be a lot easier without your hair blowing everywhere!

These tips will without a doubt give you back the confidence you need to strut to any class, dining hall, or club meeting and leave you feeling like the hot collegiette™ that you are!

U Mass Amherst

Hey everyone! My name is Sarah Freudson and I'm a junior studying Legal Studies and Women, Gender, Sexuality Studies at Umass Amherst! I am a sister of Sigma Kappa Sorority and am very passionate about philanthropy. I volunteer my time as an art assistant, spending time with the elderly and visiting the sick at hospitals. My one goal in life is to visit as many countries as possible.  I am Ukrainian and I go back to the homeland to visit family as much as I can!The most significant thing about me is my idolization of F. Scott Fitzgerald. His quote: "just remember that all the people in this world haven't had the advantages that you've had," literally dictates my life. It shows the importance of volunteering along with the realization of how lucky we all are for our given circumstances.  I'm the type of girl that looks at the glass half full, thats for sure!!
