Campus Celeb: Hannah Gordon

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Iowa chapter.

Meet this week’s Campus Celebrity: Hannah Gordon! She is originally from  Deerfield, Illinois, which she refers to as the “North Shore.” You may know her as the “OrderUp Girl” on campus. Her super outgoing personality is one that could not be forgotten. Despite her crazy schedule, Hannah is ambitious and super determined to achieve her career goals.

Q: Let’s start with the basics. What’s your major?

A: Communications Major and getting a certificate in Sports Management and a minor in Rhetoric

Q: What are some things that you are involved in on campus?

A: I am Alpha Delta Pi’s “Spirit Chair” and a Senior Marketing Intern for OrderUp.

Q: If you could describe yourself in one word what would it be?

A: Loud!

Q: Why did you choose Iowa?

A: I chose Iowa because it was the first school that I visited that I felt at home. At other universities I felt like a stranger, but I could always picture myself here.

Q: What’s the best part of working for OrderUp?

A: I love how excited people get about food. I love giving out free food. I’m the kind of person that students want to talk to as opposed to forcing them to sign up for things; I’m giving them free stuff!

Q: What motivates you to stay involved?

A: Be the change you want to see. If I see something that should be changed or could be better, I get involved instead of just voicing my opinion about it.

Q: Spirit Animal?

A: A hyena because they’re loud and annoying but still kind of cute.

Q: What’s an upcoming event you’re excited for?

A: An event for OrderUp that I’m excited for is that we’re teaming up with Delta Chi for their “Pizza and Puppies” event.

As for Iowa, I’m super excited for Kevin Hart! I think he’s hilarious and I’m jealous of stand up comedians because they’re living my dream job.

I’m also excited for Alpha Delta Pi’s “Mallard Ball,” but I’m currently dateless, so if you’re reading this and interested let me know.

Q: What are some of your career goals?

A: My main career goal is to do marketing for a professional sports team. I fell in love with the sports industry after getting involved with the practicum with the Chicago Blackhawks this past summer.

Q: Your best experience at Iowa?

A: That’s a tough one. I’ve had so many good times! My best memories are the nights that I get to hang out with my best friends, whether they’re in my sorority or not. I know if I’m with them I’m always making good memories!
