UConn Students Set Goals for the 2016-2017 School Year

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Conn chapter.

With the end of the 2015-2016 school year finally in sight, college students everywhere are looking forward to a much-needed summer vacation.  Some students are graduating while others will just be starting their college experience in the fall.  However, for the rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors, they will be starting yet another year of college.

We asked our fellow UConn Huskies to share the goals they are setting to make 2016-2017 their best year of college yet.  From the inspiring to the slightly more comical, here is what they said:

“I’m going to start doing all of the required readings in the syllabus.”

“Not get the same three things for dinner at the U.”

“Get over my fear of pooping when there is only one other person in the bathroom.”

“Take the bus less.”

“Start getting more than just two flavors at Freshens.”

“I’m going to try not to have an annoying roommate.”

“I’m going to try to get all A’s and B’s next semester.”

“My goal is to walk around more and to finally start working out.”

“Pay more attention in class so I do not have to teach myself a semester’s worth of information the night before my final.”

“I’m going to open the doors at Oak Hall without struggling.”

“Go to at least 70% of my morning lectures.”

“Figure out my feelings.”

“Be more productive everyday- a.k.a. not waiting until the last minute and spreading assignments out.”

“Continuously go to the BodyWise classes or the gym three times a week.”

“Go to more university events.”

“Go to Horsebarn Hill more (because ~nature~ and it’s beautiful).”

“Improve my GPA by finding effective methods to pass my exams, tests and quizzes.”

“Get out of my dorm more, even if it’s to study—but study in another building.”

“Join clubs that hopefully fit in my schedule.”

“Find study groups.”

“Some romance I guess.”

“Get my show ‘Weekly Programming’ running at a great pace.”

“Learn something in class and enjoy it.”

“Take classes that I actually like and mean something for what I want to do in the future.”

Best of luck achieving your goals, Huskies!  Here’s to having more fun and more academic success in the 2016-2017 school year.
