As How I Met Your Mother wrapped up its final season last Monday, I feel as though I can speak for most when I say it was pretty disappointing, but all let-downs aside, the series has provided all of us with some great messages, especially for college kids our age. I decided to compile a list of 7 things HIMYM has taught us.
1. Suit-Up
Okay, well I will venture to say most of us girls don’t wear many suits, but, it’s always important to look your best. If there’s one lesson Barney Stinson taught us, it’s that dressing up can make anything happen.
2. It’s Okay To Make Mistakes
Eventually, you’re going to screw up, but that’s okay. That’s usually how you learn.
3. Nothing Good Happens After 2 a.m.
I would venture to say that this is pretty self-explanatory.
4. Wait For It…
IT’S GOING TO BE LEGEN-DARY! You have wait sometimes for life to be truly legendary.
5. When You Get Sad..
Be AWESOME instead.
6. Let Go Of Your Past
Ted may have not followed this rule, but letting go of failed relationships or missed opportunities is crucial to letting your future take its own course. Don’t dwell on the things you can’t change.
7. You Always Need Your Friends
No matter where life takes you, no matter what you do, true friends will always be there for you.
