  1. Turkish Delight, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

Anyone who has ever read The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe will remember the infamous scene in which Edmund discovers Narnia and meets the White Witch, who offers him anything his heart desires. Edmund, for some reason, wishes for rosewater-flavored Turkish Delight. He could have asked for anything, and he chose Turkish Delight, so it must be pretty dang good.

  1. Harriet the Spy’s Tomato Sandwich, Harriet the Spy

This sandwich was Harriet’s signature meal, made for her by her wonderful nanny Golly. Harriet would eat the sandwich, which was nothing besides white bread, tomatoes, and mayonnaise as she walked along her “spy route” making observations about her neighbors.

  1. Bruce Bogtrotter’s Chocolate Cake, Matilda

One of the best/worst scenes in Roald Dahl’s Matilda is the scene where one of Matilda’s classmates, Brucie, is forced to eat an entire chocolate cake in front of a school assembly for stealing a slice of it from Miss Trunchbull’s office.

  1. Butterbeer, Harry Potter Series

What kind of list would this be without including butterbeer? Every time the trio went to Hogsmeade they stopped at the Three Broomsticks Inn for a pint of butterbeer (or occasionally firewhisky). It sounded delicious, and we all secretly wanted to try it.
