The First Class of the Semester as told by Jennifer Lawrence

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tulane chapter.

The first class of the semester can be very stressful. You don’t know which of your friends you’ll spot when you walk into the room or what to expect from each professor. It can either create excitement for what’s to come or make you stressed before you even finish the first hour. Either way, Jennifer Lawrence seems to know it best.

You start the day confident and ready for what’s to come

Until you try to find your first class

And when you finally do you walk in like

But when you get up you see a group of your friends already there

Then your teacher has every student share something unique

But everyone else seems less than impressed

Then your professor goes over the syllabus and reviews the no cell phone policy like

You look at the clock and realize you still have 30 minutes left

And then you hear your teacher announce a homework assignment for next class

And that there may be a quiz on the reading next week

So you raise your hand and suggest the quiz should be postponed since you don’t have the textbook yet and the professor says no

When you finally get home you reflect on how you can’t believe you made it through the day

The first class of the semester can be tough, but no matter how much work gets assigned or how boring your professor is, don’t get discouraged on day one. Good luck!
