So as we can tell by the very rainy week we’ve at Trin, spring has sprung (and hopefully those temps will start to really warm up!)  As the seasons shift, how you take care of your skin should change, too.  You wouldn’t wear a super heavy moisturizer in the middle of a hot and humid summer would you??  (The answer is no.) So for spring, here are my picks for the best beauty items out there.

Hydration:

Facial moisturizer

This Clinique face cream, Moisture Surge, is the best I have ever used for the spring and summer – its light, not greasy, but your skin sucks up the moisture.  It’s also unscented so it’s great for sensitive skin.  (If you have particularly dry skin, they also have Moisture Surge Intense.)

Body Butter

L’Occainte is a great brand for all lotions and body washes, but this body butter in particular is fantastic.  The Shea Butter Ultra Rich Body Cream is thick but it is so hydrating – it’s the best when you’ve just shaved your legs and they’re craving lotion, great for dress/skirt season (which is coming soon!)  A little goes a long way.

Make up/Fragrance:

Blush

Benefit’s Dandelion Blush is perfect for a light, pretty bit of rouge on your face, adding color and life.  I love this blush the most when I’m not tan like I am in the summer, so while I’m still pale, this light pink is perfect for making me look less dead.  (Also comes in a mini!!)

Mascara

Too Faced’s Better Than Sex is the best mascara I have ever used.  It adds length, volume, and doesn’t make your lashes super stiff – they still feel like my lashes.  My one critique – sometime it gets flaky BUT there is a waterproof version (which is very long lasting, you better have make up remover.)

Perfume

As the seasons shift, I like to change fragrances.  So, since spring is a season of flowers (and pollen) I like to have a perfume that matches that.  Jo Malone makes amazing light fragrances.  I recommend the Mimosa & Cardamom cologne or the Peony & Blush Suede cologne for the spring.
