Alexander Wang X H&M

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Trinity chapter.

Thursday, November 6 marked the arrival of the highly anticipated designer collaboration of Alexander Wang X H&M collection. The release lived up to the high expectations. The collection featured a womenswear line of 38 pieces including mesh-paneled leggings, cropped bra tops, scuba dresses, parkas, leather jackets, and sweatshirts as well as a range of accessories and everyday objects.

The palate of the collection is nearly all grey and black. It captures Alexander Wang’s renowned talent for translating contemporary, sports-wear inspired edge. The sports-luxe collection utilizes neoprene, a material that is typically used on scuba diving suits.

Wang creates a realistic gym to Saturday night versatility. He has introduced a new futuristic hybrid, which sees the sporty and the fashionable come together. The prices are very unpretentious and affordable, ranging from around $35 to $150.

Needless to say the website crashed 10 minutes prior to the line going live, and every piece is currently sold out or being sold on eBay at a much higher price. Designer collaborations have become increasing popular in the fashion industry. They offer a way for high-end designers like Alexander Wang to sell a line of clothes and accessories at affordable prices. Although, the Alexander Wang X H&M collection is sold out, there are many designer collaborations to be released in the future.
