Celebrate Mother Earth

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Towson chapter.

April 22 is Earth Day and what better way to spend your weekend than doing something good for our planet! Here are a six ways to help Mother Earth on Earth day:

1. Clean up

Whether you clean up around lake or around campus, help pick up trash  to help maintain the beauty of our planet.

2. Plant a Tree

Visit a store that sells plants to pick up some seeds to plant something. Whether it’s a plant, flowers or even a full-grown tree adding more life to Earth is a good way to give back.

3. Conserve Energy

Go outside and be active rather than sitting inside on the computer all day. Saving energy is a big way to save the Earth.

4. Recycle

Make sure to put your trash in designated bins so it can be disposed of the right way. You can even make recycling a daily task in your dorm or home.

5. Register for The Big Event

Every year Towson holds a campus wide community service event. Visit the events calendar on the school website to can sign up.

6. Google

We all know how to use Google so make it count! Search for events going on in the area so you can decide which events sound interesting to you.

Whatever you choose to do this Earth Day, make sure you have fun doing it! A happier plant makes for happier people.
