The Perfect Lip Colors for Fall

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Suffolk chapter.

As the seasons change, so do fashion trends. Even though the cooler weather is coming, the warmer colors start to make their appearance (after all, we have to stay warm somehow). From hues of berries to more earthy tones, the runways have given us a lot to look forward to for this fall. The beauty industry can be tough, so we’re here to give you a break down on your must have lipstick colors for fall of 2015.

Burgundy will always be a classic but still chic and sassy fall color. You will always have that to fall back on, but if you’re looking to step out of your comfort zone, change it up and check out these new looks.

Lavender/ Pale Pink:

Forget the rule of wearing only dark colors in the fall and play around with light and fun colors! With a light lip look, you can play it up with other bold features.

Fuchsia/ Berry:

Keep summer alive well into the fall months by livening up your lips! If you’re feeling dreary, it’s a great refresher for any time of day. A fuchsia, berry lip provides a nice play on the classic red look, with a cheerful spin. It’s refreshing, it’s fun and it’s definitely totally unexpected.

Brick Red:

Keep things simple and classic, but with a little twist on Old Hollywood glam. A brick red with some warm orange, brown undertones flatters a variety of skin tones and it’s sure to warm you up with a sexy and smoky look.

Burnt Orange/ Cocoa:

Is there anything we look forward to about fall other than pumpkin spice everything? Well, why not wear it on your lips too? Play up fall elements in your makeup and try an unusual, rich brown or orange. With a hint of copper and a little shimmer, theses colors are a great wear to transition from day to night.

Deep Plum/ Black:

Bold is sexy. Channel your inner 90’s girl and play with deep, dark shades.

Transitioning fashion trends from one season to the next can be difficult, but one of the easiest ways is through your makeup. Make a statement with your lipstick this fall, by creating stand out looks. Colors are definitely starting to change around here, and we’re not just talking about the leaves!
