Beauty Beat: A Classic Look for the Holidays

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at St Olaf chapter.

Why is Her Campus St. Olaf copy editor and fellow Ole, Caroline Bressman, looking so gorgeous tonight? Well, she has an elegant holiday party this weekend that she is attending. Want to steal her style? Here is how:

1.     Apply highlighter to the tops of your cheekbones and right under the eyebrows.

2.     Sculpt with bronzer. Apply a warm color under your cheekbones (make a fishy face) and under the chin. I think about making a “3” shape. Start at the temple and make a three hitting the cheeks and neck!

3.     Next, I applied her lipstick. We chose a wine color that is much more elegant than a bright red. Applying lipstick before eye make-up ensures a balanced face.

4.     After that, I applied a medium, brownish shade of eye shadow over the entire eye, but added a bit of a shimmery gold right above the crease.

5.     For eyeliner, I opted for liquid eyeliner in black and created a cat eye by extending the line out. Then I went back in and slightly filled in the corner with the liner.

6.     Set the eyeliner by brushing some black eye shadow over the line with an eyeliner brush.

7.     We finished off the make-up with a touch of mascara.

8.     When it comes to the hair, I took one-inch sections and curled them with a one-inch iron. This creates tight curls.

9.     Finally, I put in a deep side part, teased the roots of the hair and brushed the curls out for a softer look.

The perfect look for the holidays!
