This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at St Olaf chapter.

Name: Alex Germann

Graduation Year: 2014, this is my 8th semester, but I’ve graduated already (missed the second half of my freshman year for the Army).

Major/Concentration: Biology, Pre-med.

Favorite place to study: Rolvaag 3rd floor, media room. Then I can get on a computer as I study to listen to music and if I need a study break YouTube is readily available for my viewing pleasure.

Favorite food: Stir fry, ice cream and stupid amounts of peanut butter and chocolate.

Favorite movie: That’s hard, maybe Braveheart or Forrest Gump.

Favorite Winter Activity: Snowboarding.

Hobbies: Listening to music (I’ve listened to Taylor Swift incessantly this past week), football, weightlifting or working out in general, playing the guitar, drawing, reading, hiking, fishing, going to Bible study and church with my friends, cooking, cleaning, organizing every aspect of my existence, volunteering, looking up random things on Wikipedia, learning new things, drinking coffee in the Caf, staring off into space and getting lost in my mind.

Campus Activities: Football team, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Fellowship of Christian Oles, Intervarsity Bible Study, Thursday Night Bible Study, Alpha Phi Omega, St. Olaf Mental Health Awareness Club, Pre-Health Club.

After St. Olaf I would like to: Become a doctor and do missionary work for a month out of the year providing free medical service to underprivileged communities, possibly overseas. Also, I would like to live in Colorado or somewhere with mountains, and have a family and a pet dog named “Elroy”.

Proudest Moment/Greatest Achievement: Yet to come.

What do you want the ladies of St. Olaf to know: When I look at the young women of St. Olaf, I see a strong, powerful, confident collection that will play an important role in guiding our generation as well as future generations in a positive direction and a better future for all – I see world changers. Believe in yourself and you can achieve anything. On a lighter note, you’re all wonderful, amazing, intelligent and beautiful inside and out, just keep doing you and don’t letter others define your self-worth, cuz the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate.  Just shake it off.
