Freya’s DIY: Christmas Wreaths

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at St. Andrews chapter.

To make these Christmas wreaths you need:

  • dried fruit
  • cinamon sticks/walnuts/items for decoration
  • taffia
  • string
  • needle

Method:

  1. First you need to dry fruit in the oven. I recommend oranges, satsumas, grapefruits, apples, and limes. Slice the fruit into thick slices, place on a baking tray, and sprinkle with the orange and the cinamon.
  2. Place in the oven on a low temperature until the fruit has dried out. This can take a considerable time.
  3. Leave in a warm place until completely dried out.
  4. Using a needle and string, string the dried fruit together. You can add other items such as cinammon, foliage, and walnuts as desired.
  5. Finally, use ribbon or taffia to tie up your garland.
  6. Enjoy the Christmas decoration you have sucessfully created.
