In giving the reigns of HerCampus SFA in May 2012, I knew there would be some difficulties in picking up and starting off where the former editor Jessika Davidson left off, but wasn’t prepared for those that I encountered. Through it all, I believe everyone can agree that this branch had a successful semester and I am excited to take off for the Spring semester!
Special thanks to my dedicated, hard-working staff members, Aliysa Damon and Destinee Hollis. Aliysa Damon is a sophomore majoring in Early Childhood Education from Fort Worth, TX and serves as the photographer and featured staff writer. She became interested in HerCampus™ due to her journalism major background and joined to better her writing and interviewing skills. “It offers great benefits to your job resume as well, so its basically a win-win situation.” Destinee Hollis is a sophomore majoring in Business from Dallas, TX. Destinee became involved with HerCampus™ to expand her writing skills, as well as, meet new people. I am so thankful to have these two ladies on my team, and can not wait to get more people aboard the HerCampus SFA branch!
I have to give thanks to the supporters of this chapter: Presidential Hustle Entertainment, Party ‘N Things, Country Princess Couture, Nacogdoches Chick Fil A, Nacogdoches Raisin Canes, Sigma Lamda Gamma, SFA Gammas, SAA, and DJ Teddi. These groups/businesses helped attract students to the site and make it a success. I hope that we will continue to have your support again this semester!
Overall, I enjoyed heading up this chapter. I’m excited to start the new year and keep SFA students informed about SFA News, Celebrities, Cuties, Events, and Photos!
