Language is one of those general requirements at SCSU that many people dread. But for one girl, Spanish is her favorite class.
Shannon Barrett is an honors college student and Spanish Major at SCSU, “I’ve always wanted to be bilingual and it’s the only subject I never hated doing work for. I always enjoyed learning more of the language,” she says. Shannon hopes to either teach Spanish or be a travel agent for Spain because she loves the culture and would love to show it to more people. Shannon went to Spain with her class while she was in high school, her favorite part was the Taho River in front of Toledo.
