5 Things That We Actually Can’t Even Deal With

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Scranton chapter.

It‘s not uncommon to hear the phrase “I can’t” when you walk past a group of girls nowadays. As we all know – this phrase has snuck its way into our every day convos. We know, you’re totally one of those girls that “doesn’t say that, ever” but lets face it we all do. You’ve probably used this infamous phrase when explaining what happened in class earlier that day or reacting to Taylor Swift’s newest album.

Here’s a list of the top five things that we actually just can’t deal with right now.

1. Broadcasting relationships on social mediaNo one is hating on the fact that you’re in love. We’re happy for you, really, but does every. single. tweet. need to be about your significant other? Is a weekly Instagram on #mcm or #wcw necessary? Do we need to see an entire Facebook album of you kissing, hugging, posing, and taking selfies in front of whatever landmark you’ve chosen to explore that given week? I mean, after all, some of the best relationships are the ones you never hear about. (Uhhh, JT and Jess? Case and point.)

2. Carrying purses and backpacks at the same timeIt just looks uncomfortable and a bit odd. What is so necessary in your purse that can’t fit in your backpack? And we all know you’re not carrying that many books, so if you’re insisting on style, why not just throw them in your oversized purse?

3. Serious selfies as your My Story on SnapchatGood for you girl! You probably look great! But why are you posting it for 3 seconds on snapchat? If you love the picture that much, Instagram it! Nothing says confidence booster like 20+ likes on a selfie.

4. Revealing clothes in classWho are you trying to impress, your teacher? If you’re trying to impress that really cute boy in your class, barely wearing clothes to learn about Plato is definitely not the way to win over his heart.

5. People who are in college but still only hang with their high school cliqueYou just spent four years with them! Don’t get us wrong, high school friends are great, but expand your horizons a little! There are THOUSANDS of people at your new school – go get some new BFFs! After all, some of the ladies you meet in college are bound to be your friends for life and even in your wedding someday. Go find some bridesmaids!
