13 Signs That You’re Turning Into Your Mom

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Scranton chapter.

My mom is the most important person in my life. She’s caring, energetic, dramatic and everything in between.  Like most children, I to tend to tease my mom about the crazy things that she does. She never fails to snap back at me and say, “Oh just wait until you’re my age and then you’ll understand!” But I have to admit, I’m beginning to realize just how similar I am to my mom. If you can relate to me, here are 13 signs that you’re turning into your mom:

As soon as you hear people around you sneezing and coughing, you sprint to the nearest drug store to get a flu shot.

You’ve started to care more about bundling up and being warm instead of shivering in your new skirt.

You’re always prepared. Advil, tissues, hand sanitizer and anything else you may ever need in case of an emergency be found in your purse.

Your morning doesn’t start until you have your first cup of coffee.

Your drink of choice is a nice glass (or two) of wine.

Get the tissues ready! Whether your crying tears of joy or sadness, you can’t make it through a rom- com without bawling your eyes out.

Your coupon collection is your best friend. You don’t dare to buy anything without one.

You often worry about other people’s problems even if they have nothing to do with you.

Your biggest pet peeve is when your roommates leave dishes in the sink instead of placing them in the dishwasher.

You’ve tried to zoom in on an Instagram picture and “liked” it by accident.

You insist on feeding everyone who comes over your dorm and your friends are never left hungry. “Are you sure you’re not hungry?! Well, there’s left over pasta in the fridge, help yourself!”

You make a grocery list and then end up forgetting the list at home. Then, you get to the store and buy a million unnecessary items and forget to buy the one thing you actually went there for.

HGTV is your favorite channel and you dream of buying a house with the help of the Property Brothers.

Even if we share these 13 signs, I’m lucky if I turn into someone as awesome as my mom. Like mother, like daughter, I guess!
