It’s Senior Year!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SAU chapter.

It’s finally here. My senior year of college! It’s scary, but I’m beyond excited for the year to come. I know it’s cliche, but I honestly cannot believe that three short years ago I was sitting in my dorm room in Cosgrove as my parents dropped me off for the first time. But it was all uphill from there and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Ambrose. My roommates and I have already decided that we are going to make this year the best year of our lives even if the next 8 months are going to fly by. We’ve already signed up for Intramural volleyball and we’re anxiously awaiting the next activity that CAB and Student Activities puts on.

At my job this summer, numerous people asked me how many years of college I had left. I nervously told them that I was starting senior year. They seemed excited for me, but I told them I was scared because then I graduate and then I have to officially become a Big Girl. Although I’m excited for that, I’m not sure where I’m going to be in 8 or 9 months or a year from now. I’d love to be in my own classroom as a high school English teacher, but we all know that finding a job right out of college might not always happen, so I’m keeping my options wide open.

For now, though, I’m going to sit back and enjoy one more year of being a college student where I can wear sweatpants on a daily basis if I want, or stay out until 2 a.m. on a weekend and sleep late the next day with little or no consequences. So, look out Ambrose, the girls of Hagen are ready to celebrate their senior year at SAU!
