5 Weekend Road Trips You Can Do This Fall

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SAU chapter.

Fall is quickly approaching and if you’re like the members of HC SAU, you’re excited. However, with a new season comes a new worry of having nothing to do. We’ve given you all the highlights the QC has to offer, but have no fear, bees. Here is a list of fall activities located within an hour of Davenport to keep you fully entertained with fun roadtrips and even better destinations.

Maquoketa Caves State Park: 50 minute drive

Maquoketa Caves is free, beautiful and a great place to visit with a group of friends.

Blue Grass Drive – In: 20 minute drive

Borrow your friend’s pick-up truck, lay down blankets and pillows in the bed and grab some snacks for your movie night OUT.

Wide River Winery Tasting Room & Courtyard: 25 minute drive

GNO! Grab your girls and head over to Wide River Winery for some good music (on Friday’s) and some great wine!

Antique Archiology: 25 minute drive

This store is owned by American Picker’s very own Mike Wolfe and is located in Le Claire, Iowa. It has many wonderful antique finds of all kinds.

Niabi Zoo: 25 minute drive

This is a great double date destination. Dinner and a movie? Forget about it. Walk around the Niabi Zoo and see all of their wonderful animals.

Whether you decide to stay near or travel (somewhat) far, there are so many options to enjoy! Plan a daytrip with the friends or take your family for a surprise roadtrip to see something a little extra exciting! The QC is home to many things, but we’re so lucky to have such a variety of places to see nearby, too!
