Megan Anne Webster

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Rowan chapter.

Hi, Profs!

This week, the campus cutie is a very dear friend of mine – Megan Anne Webster!

Megan recently joined Rowan University as a transfer student, coming in from Camden County College. She made a bold decision to leave her hometown of Cherry Hill, NJ, and move to Glassboro to get the most out of her experience at Rowan University.

At Rowan, Megan is all set to pursue a major in Elementary Education with a dual in Writing Arts. She hopes her major will allow her to secure a job as an elementary school teacher and one day become a principal.

Currently, however, she is a nanny to three wonderful little angels. This is not her first job. Megan has worked since she was 16, as most college students have, and has secured a rather independent lifestyle for herself at only age 21.

When she’s not working hard at school or work, Megan likes to engage herself in all things musical. She sings, plays the piano, and sometimes writes songs. She also loves to bake! But, her favorite thing to do of all time is spend time with her 7 year old nephew, Jacob. Megan is very family orientated and would do anything to help them.

When asked about her perfect day, Megan threw a little throwback into the interview and said “That’s a tough one. I’d have to say April 25th. Because it’s not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket.” Shout out, Castle Rock Entertainment!

But seriously, what would this amazing young lady like to do on a date with an equally amazing young gentleman? Something simple, that’s for sure. Megan is far from high maintenance. She would like to go get something to eat, then take a walk outside and get a chance to talk and connect with her date.

With her hectic life in fuller swing than ever before, if Megan had one wish, she would use it to add more hours to the day. It would certainly give her time to work on her academic and career goals, and get a start on those pesky life goals we are all supposed to have thought about for now. Currently, like many of us, Megan does not have a full list of life goals – come on, the immediate concern is getting this semester cranked out! But Megan knows she wants to have a family one day, definitely.

One the rare occasion Megan has some free time, she likes to go to the shore or out to dinner with her friends. She also likes the book Marley and Me, the movie The Princess Bride, and the hit TV series New Girl. The best time of the year to cozy up on the couch and relax? According to Megan, it is fall; her favorite season.

Although Megan is a transfer student, she still has three years of college experience behind her and plenty of wisdom to pass on. If given the chance, she would tell freshmen students “don’t forget to make time for yourself. Classes and work are one thing, but how can you exceed expectations if you barely reach the minimum requirements for yourself?” Still, as a transfer student living on campus, Megan has learned one very important thing… She is very, very, terrified of bugs and all things creeping and crawling. Another piece of advice Megan would pass on to girls is to always have a secret stash of chocolate, you never know when you’re going to need it!

Finally, a surprising fact about Megan is her choice in automobile. Would you believe it, she drives a stick!

I've never really been good at writing biographies, so here is a quick list of facts about me instead! My favorite Disney movie is The Little Mermaid I rode my bike into a pole when I was eight York Peppermint Patties are my favorite chocolate Walking in the rain is my favorite thing to do (when it's raining, of course) Snakes absolutely terrify the crap out of me. Have a happy day! P.S Live to love, love to live!
I am a Writing Arts major at Rowan University. Poetry is my best friend. One day, I hope to be a successful writer for a popular magazine in NYC. My dream is to travel to Paris, London, and Rome to explore and write about my experiences there.
