Winged Eyeliner for Dummies

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Rochester chapter.

This is my eye. There are many like it but this one is mine. (Some of these pictures are blurry, I’m so sorry! my photography skills aren’t that great.)

The first blurry picture of many. What you want to do first is take your liquid eyeliner and draw a line from the corner of your eye to the tail of your eyebrow.

Here’s what it looks like with my eye closed. It will look like you drew it upwards, and that’s ok! That’s what it’s supposed to look like.

The first mistake people often make is to close their eyes and draw a line straight out from their lashline like so:

But here’s what this looks like with my eyes open. As you can see, it makes your eyes look droopy and weird, so don’t do it!

Next what you’re going to do is find the middle point of your lashline and draw a line connecting that point to the end of your wing.

Then fill it in. (Ugh so blurry).

Take your eyeliner and smooth it over.

And you’re done! (Apperently the camera decided to focus on my arm instead of my eye).

Here’s an awkward selfie of the finished look! I hope this all helps!!
