Top Halloween Movies of All Time

Whether you’re that horror film junkie or are a scaredy-cat like myself, these movies are sure to get you in the Halloween spirit!

1. Halloweentown *

The 1998 Disney Channel Original Movie is the must see movie of the season.  Marnie, the main character, learns that she is a witch and is transported to town full of supernatural creatures.

2. Hocus Pocus*

300 years ago, the Sanderson sisters were executed for practicing witchcraft.  Now it’s Halloween and the witches are back and in search of immortal life.  Max, Allison, and Dani must save all the kids in Salem from the witches!

3. The Nightmare Before Christmas*

Jack Skellington, Pumpkin King, ruler of Halloweentown, happens upon Christmastown, and decides to change Christmas into another Halloween. He kidnaps Santa Claus, then takes it upon himself to deliver some alternative gifts to unsuspecting children.

4. It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown*

The Peanuts gang celebrates Halloween while Linus waits for the Great Pumpkin.

5. Don’t Look Under the Bed*

A girl calls on her brother’s imaginary friend to banish a mischievous boogeyman who has framed her for his pranks.

6. Tower of Terror*

A disgraced reporter investigates an abandoned luxury hotel where five people mysteriously disappeared sixty years earlier.

7.The Haunted Mansion*

Workaholic realtor Jim Evers, his wife/business partner Sara and their two children are summoned to a mansion. When they discover that the place is haunted, Jim discovers an important lesson about the family he’s neglected as they attempt to escape.

8. Friday the 13th

A group of young adults discover a boarded up Camp Crystal Lake, where they soon encounter Jason Voorhees and his deadly intentions.

9. The Blair Witch Project

Three film students vanish after traveling into a Maryland forest to film a documentary on the local Blair Witch legend, leaving only their footage behind.

10. Edward Scissorhands*

A gentle young man, who happens to have scissors for hands, falls in love with an adolescent girl.

11.The Shining

 

A family heads to an isolated hotel for the winter where an evil and spiritual presence influences the father into violence, while his psychic son sees horrific forebodings from the past and of the future.

12.The Ring

A young journalist must investigate a mysterious videotape which seems to cause the death of anyone in a week of viewing it.

When a teenage girl is possessed by a mysterious entity, her mother seeks the help of two priests to save her daughter.

14. Halloween

After being committed for 17 years, Michael Myers, now a grown man and still very dangerous, escapes from the mental institution (where he was committed as a 10 year old) and he immediately returns to Haddonfield, where he wants to find his baby sister, Laurie. Anyone who crosses his path is in mortal danger.

15.Harry Potter*

Because who doesn’t love watching the Harry Potter movies no matter what time of the year it is!
