7 Ways You Can Prep for Halloween

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Rhodes chapter.

Guys! Halloween is 33 days away! And there are only 3 days left until October! Can you believe it?! Spooky month is almost upon us. Here are some fun ideas on how to prepare for one of the greatest months of the year.

1.      Stephen King’s “It” has been remade and is currently in theaters. So, go with your friends, or a hot date *wink wink*, or if you are brave, go solo to go watch the bone-chilling new horror movie.

2.      Or….. if you are a scaredy cat, like me, you can always stick to the non-horror classics, such as “Hocus Pocus.” A great place to rent movies is the media center, the staff are all super friendly and you know what the best part is? If you turn in your movie after three days, IT’S FREE!

3.      It is always fun to relax and unwind in a nice steamy bath or shower. Lush comes out with holiday inspired products every year. The products are cruelty free and smell amazing! The Bewitched bath bomb bundle is boo-tifully wrapped and spookily adorable. https://www.lushusa.com/gifts/wrapped-gifts/bewitched/07685.html

4.      And for those of you who live off campus, a nice candle doesn’t only make a room smell freak-tastic, it can also add to the décor of a room. Bath and Body Works makes seasonal candles with almost every scent you could want! Not only are there about a kajillion pumpkin flavored candles, the packaging is adorbs! (HerCampus is not responsible for any candles brought into dorms) http://www.bathandbodyworks.com/p/caramel-pumpkin-swirl-3-wick-candle-023593891.html?cgid=all-candles#start=28

5.      This blood-curdling manicure is an easy way to bring a sophisticated and subtle look to complete your spook-tacular outfit. An ombre look is easy to achieve. Once you apply a base coat, wait for it to dry, then grab a makeup sponge and dab on a darker color to the tip of your nails!

6.      This Fall-inspired puppy chow is a yummy treat for you ghouls. The recipe is in the Pinterest link here: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/81346337002720580/

7.      Here’s another fun way to spice up your dorm. Your neighbors will be dying to know where you got this door hanger. Just head to a local craft store and buy a few wood letters and spell out a spooky word. Paint the letters a color of your choice and add a tulle ribbon to hang them.
