We all know the food here on campus is nothing compared to the home-cooked meals we grew up on. And even though we all have to get rid of that leftover meal plan money, sometimes it’s fun to splurge and order in from places around campus. Here are six of the best places to order food when you are not feeling Chartwells:
1. Hokkaido
Hokkaido is definitely my favorite place to order in from around Quinnipiac. It’s not only incredibly tasty and somewhat affordable, but the workers there are very friendly! It may not be on our QCards but it is definitely worth trying. So if you are looking for amazing sushi, Hokkaido is the place. I have not heard one bad thing from people who have ordered from Hokkaido!
2. Droogie’s
Every Quinnipiac student has heard of Droogie’s. It’s a classic and for good reason! Droogie’s is close by and very good. If you haven’t yet, order a milkshake, burger, and fries and enjoy a meal that’s not Chartwells.
3. Ray and Mike’s
Like Droogies, Ray and Mike’s is a Quinnipiac classic. They have award-winning sandwiches for reasonable prices that every QU student has to have at least once in their four years here. Their famous MacDaddy is a favorite among students. Although they don’t deliver, it is worth it if you have a car or know someone who does. You could even walk there when the weather gets warmer! Ray and Mike’s is open Sunday through Monday from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. And if you are in a rush to get one of their legendary sandwiches, you can call in and pick it up when you get there!
4. Ixtapa
Although Ixtapa is known for being the place you go with your friends on special occasions, you can also order in! Besides their yummy drinks, Ixtapa has very good Mexican food that is easy to get delivered to campus.
5. Golden Chopsticks
In my opinion, a much better option than Gold Star. Even though Golden Chopsticks is not on our QCard, it is 10 times better than any Chinese restaurant on the card. It’s definitely worth ordering from, and it is actually affordable! It is open Sunday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. So get your roommates or friends and check out the menu and order away!
6. Primo Pizza
If you ever just want to order good pizza, Primo is the place. Not only is it affordable and yummy, you can pay with QCash, so it’s easy, too!
