5 Classic Fall Accessories

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Quinnipiac chapter.

Now that fall is upon us, I’ve started thinking about what fashions I want to employ for the season.  I came up with five of my favorite fall accessories, classic pieces that will almost never go out of style.  Check ‘em out:

1.     Beanies

Beanies will forever be my go-to outfit topper.  I have about 10 different colors of them.  Not only do they keep my head warm, but they act as a hair accessory (especially on bad hair days), and they look cute with just about every fall outfit, whether it be jeans and a hoodie or a dress a tights…which brings me to my next favorite accessory…

2.    Tights/Leggings/Stockings

Anything that keeps my legs warm against Quinnipiac falls’ breeze and complete my outfit is something I want in my closet.  I have a bunch of tights, leggings and stockings, all in fun patterns and colors, and they look cute with everything: skirts, long sweaters, hoodies, etc.  Complete the outfit with a pair of boots and you’re set!

3.   Brown boots

I love all boots, but brown boots, in particular, are my favorite.  I bought my brown boots last fall and wore them just about every day and cannot wait to break them out for this year.  I swear, I think they go with every color and style, particularly skinny jeans and leggings.  I also kind of love the fact that they can make my hoodie and leggings look slightly less bummy.

4.    Kimono cardigans

This look became popular over this past summer, but I can’t wait to try on my kimono cardigan with a pair of skinny jeans and boots.  I think the darker ones (particularly blacks, navy blues, browns and maroons) will carry well into the fall, despite the fact the fabric is sheer and light and you might freeze just a little.  Anything for fashion, right?

5.   Infinity scarves

I love all scarves, but let’s be honest: infinity scarves are ingenious.  They just wrap right around, stay all puffy throughout the day, keep your neck warm, rarely have to be adjusted AND they’re fashionable.  I usually wear them with pea coats, sweaters or even just a plain long-sleeved shirt.  I’ve stocked up on so many different patterns and colors of infinity scarves that I’ve been itching to wear, and now that cool weather has finally arrived, they’re making an appearance.

Just writing this list has gotten me excited for the leaves to turn and the cool weather to kick in.  It’s also just made me want to go out and buy more accessories.  On that note, go forth into the fall and buy all the seasonal clothing and accessories you can get your hands on.  Tweet us your favorites @hercampusqu!
