10 Things to Do before You Graduate

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Quinnipiac chapter.

To all my dear seniors out there: I feel your pain.  We are a month into our last year at Quinnipiac and going through the first stages of denial.  There’s no way that four years can go by that fast, and there’s also no way that they can expect us to leave our beloved home in a short eight months.  There’s still too many things we have to do and try, but there’s so little time to accomplish everything.  To help you along with your QU bucket list, here’s 10 things you must do before you graduate.

1.    Go on spring break or trip abroad.

Whether you want to go to Mexico with all your friends or go on a service trip to Michigan, be sure to do something fun for spring break.  It is a rite of passage for all college students.

2.    Go to Acrop at midnight.

Everyone has to do this at least 10 times.  Go at any hour of the night and enjoy some delicious diner food.  You won’t regret it.

3.   Hike the Giant.

Challenge yourself and climb up the blue trail.  Yes, it’s hard, but the view of our beautiful campus from the top is absolutely worth every drop of sweat.

4.    Eat at Breakfast Nook.

This is a must.  This small, homey restaurant has some of the most delicious meals you can get around here, including cookie dough pancakes, out-of-this-world French toast and breakfast burritos.

5.   Go to Bar.

Once you are 21, you have to go to Bar New Haven.  Not only is it a bar and nightclub in one location, but it’s also a pizza place!  Their mashed potato pizza is one of a kind.

6.    Take a spin class.

Whether you like exercising or not, spinning is an excellent way to burn tons of calories while also having fun.  There are classes every day on York Hill, so try one out!

7.    Go to the QU vs. Yale hockey game.

This is an experience you must have at least once during your time at the Q.  The excitement and energy of the crowd is electrifying, and it will be one of your best memories.  I promise.

8.   Go to All Pets Club.

If you are ever stressed out, head over to this pet store in Wallingford, because hey, who doesn’t like playing with puppies?

9.    Stay in and hang out with your roommates.

When is the next time you’re ever going to live with all your roommates?  Appreciate them while you still can and simply hang out on a Friday night.  Watch a movie, eat some snacks and enjoy each other’s company.

10.  Go to Toad’s one last time.

Although you probably have a love-hate relationship with Toad’s, don’t forget about it once you turn 21.  It probably used to be your go-to place every weekend, so be sure to go one last time, reminisce and have some fun.

It is only September, so you have plenty of time left to complete all of these things, but don’t let it slip by you!  You can even make your own bucket list and have some fun with it.  Most importantly, enjoy yourself and go outside of your comfort zone because you’re only a college senior once.

Which of these items have you already crossed off your QU bucket list?  What else are you adding?  Share with us @hercampusqu #bucketlist!
