Youtube Video of the Week: “Only Girl” Acapella Cover

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Princeton chapter.

Trust me when I say this is one of the most addictive covers of Rihanna you will ever see. Mike Tompkins provides all music and vocals for this song in the style of – get this – voice and mouth sounds only. That’s right, every sound on this video he makes either with song or with beatbox, and you hardly notice it. SHAD also provides a pretty awesome rap mid-song.

The music video is set in and around the Train terminal in the lovely city of Toronto, Canada (since he’s Canadian). It shows several shots of him making funny faces on the sides, but center screen is the very cute man who sings the Rihanna song re-worded as a love song, cause he wants to “make you feel like you’re the only girl in the world.” The combination of the city lights and the smooth sounds make this video a must see! Even Perez Hilton thinks so.

P.S. According to his facebook, he’s been doing some work with Timbaland. Keep a look out for him in the future!
