Winter Wreck or Winter Wonderland?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Portland chapter.

We are now entering December, and with that comes snow at UP! It has already snowed twice this school year giving a little sneak peak at what’s to come –classes cancelled and snow days! While we are bundled up studying for finals it is important to take a break and have a bit of fun. But academics always come first! And with that, finals are in one week! During finals week will you be a winter wreck or in winter wonderland?

There are a few things to look forward to during dead week and finals week. (No! I’m not lying!)

Puppies! Every year everyone brings their puppies and dogs to campus as a de-stressor. A little bit of puppy love goes a long way. This year, the puppies and dogs will be in Mehling and inside the library. You can take a short break or take your time cuddling with those cute fur balls! It’s great relief.

Give yourself some time to relax. In your finals study schedule make sure the schedule in some you-time. In between all of those late night study sessions, cramming, and group studies, you need some alone time –just so you don’t go insane! All of the stress of finals can be overwhelming. Listen to some music, go for a run, take a nap, watch one (and yes please restrain yourself to one) episode of a television show, go for a walk, do some yoga, do something to take your mind off of all of the chaos of finals week.
